Sometimes Innovation is Rediscovery

What Modern Science is Re- DISCOVERING - Circadian Rhythms and Daily Routines

Sometimes Innovation is Rediscovery

Health advice mostly focuses on WHAT we eat, how much we EXERCISE, and which TREATMENT we use.

Today, researchers are increasingly asking another question:

DOES TIMINGMATTER?

Circadian rhythm science suggests that it does!

Our bodies operate on internal biological clock that influence sleep, metabolism, hormone production, cognitive function, and immune health. Rhythms are shaped by light, darkness, meal timing, movement, and rest.

Interestingly, a central principle of Ayurveda for thousands of years, is living in alignment with natural rhythms of the body and nature.

THE BODY RUNS ONTIME

Disruptions to these rhythms such as regular late nights, irregular eating patterns, shift work, and evening bright light exposure – may affect the wellbeing over time.

AYURVEDA encourages daily routines (dinachariya) to align daily activities with nature’s rhythms.

Ø Rising close to sunrise

Ø Regular mealtimes including the main meal around mid-day

Ø Movement and selfcare such as abhyanga

Ø Preparing for sleep before late night stimulation take over

Although Ayurveda and Circadian science use different frameworks, both recognise that health is influenced not only by WHAT we do, but also WHEN we do it!

RETURNING TORHYTHEM

Modern life and often encourages us to override natural cues.

The path forward is not about adding more… it is about returning to rhythm!

Sometimes innovation IS rediscovery.
